"SMALL AND BIG STEPS ON THE JOURNEY TO THE ADOLESCENT PROGRAMME"

What is the conference about?

The conference wants to reflect on the fundamental questions that need to be thought about when establishing a community of adolescents. We will be moving with passion between romantic theory and hard practice.

We will touch on the guiding principles that need to be respected by teens. How to prepare the environment to meet the essential needs of students in the third stage of development? How to implement the elements that must be available to adolescents to make them feel that their work is meaningful? What does the day-to-day contribution to community life look like? What do we envision as reshaping the environment in response to a felt need?

  • Participation in the life of the wider society through production and exchange
  • Freedom of study that allows individuals to pursue individual interests.

If the environment in the third phase is to contribute to development, it must offer real responsibility within society and real freedom in individual work. To put these ideas into practice, we must view the adolescent as a being quite different from the child in the second stage of development, a being who needs a completely different environment, namely one that offers real work and real learning the importance of work in agriculture to support him in developing economic independence and to provide him with opportunities to make use of the functional, intellectual and moral independence acquired in the first two stages.

It offers real life experiences that will provide children with both a sense of belonging, as well as a moral compass with which to develop solidarity and an awareness of how each person can contribute to society.
